Originally from Cork in the south of Ireland, Deirdre Maguire has nine years teaching experience between year 1 and year 4. She began her career as Ms. English in a small school, where she taught for four years in a multi-grade setting. Deirdre spent the next three years teaching in a large school outside Dublin. Deirdre graduated from Mary Immaculate College (University of Limerick) in 2013 with an honours Bachelor of Education degree. Here she specialised in primary school teaching and Gaeilge or Irish (the native language of Ireland). In 2017, she began her Master of Education studies at Maynooth University. She completed this over two years while also working full-time. Here she specialised in children's wellbeing and anxiety in students. She graduated in March 2020 with an honours degree. In her free time, Deirdre enjoys running, reading books, listening to music and drawing. Recently married, Deirdre also enjoys spending time with family and friends. During her time off, she loves travelling and learning about new cultures.
