Georgina Denman
Teacher of Mathematics
Georgie Denman comes to Shanghai from Kent, England, where she spent four years teaching Maths and working as a year 5 tutor at Hilden Grange, a Prep school in Tonbridge. Georgie was head of one of the houses and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the extra-curricular life of the school. A firm believer in providing a holistic education, she trained as a children's yoga teacher, leading yoga clubs for children across the Prep and Pre-Prep. Georgie was educated in the UK, completing her GCSEs and A-Levels before spending a year working in a school in Sydney before attending UCL, where she graduated with a BASc (Hons). Her degree combined a range of subjects, including Maths and English Literature, with a focus on fostering an interdisciplinary education. This has shaped much of Georgie's educational philosophy, and she is keen to deliver a curriculum that bridges disciplines in innovative ways. She is excited to move to Shanghai and continue to explore this part of the world; she is always keen to experience new cultures. While teaching in the UK, she especially enjoyed a summer in Tanzania, where she worked with a charity to provide teacher training and development opportunities. Georgie is also an avid reader and enjoys exhibitions and theatre. She always travels with her Yoga mat and likes to unwind in nature.
