Christie was born in Hartlepool and has previously worked in Qatar and Oman. She graduated from the University of Sunderland with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. She decided during her degree to become a teacher and took part in the Student Associate Scheme during her final year. Christie then completed her PGCE at Durham University. Christie began her teaching career as a teacher of English and performing arts in a secondary school in the UK. She then moved abroad and changed to the primary phase. She has been a Head of English and year 2 leader and she is very much looking forward to joining the Wellington College family. She loves being part of a child journey; it incredibly satisfying to watch as they engage with their learning while developing their passions. She finds witnessing a child grasp a difficult concept truly heart-warming, and there is nothing better than reading together, sharing stories and embracing each other?? ideas. Christie loves to travel and luckily her children have been bitten by the travel bug! Together, they enjoy spending planning their next adventure in new and exciting parts of the world.
