Megan Cooke

Year 2 Dual Language Co-Teacher

Megan is from the west coast of Ireland and has worked in education for over a decade. She taught in Ireland for seven years and has experience across multiple year groups, especially years 1 and 2. She has also worked as a learning support and EAL teacher. Her love of travel and passion for teaching brought her to Shanghai in 2019, where she joined a start-up school as a classroom teacher, in conjunction with co-leading the school's literacy curriculum and mentoring new staff.

Megan qualified with a Bachelor of Primary Education (Hons) from Dublin City University, in 2011 and has been working as a primary school teacher ever since. She strongly believes in developing the child as a whole person and enriching the child’s social, emotional and physical wellbeing, alongside academic achievements.

When Megan is not teaching, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, listen to music and be outdoors. She loves the vibrant nature of Shanghai and particularly enjoys visiting the vast array of restaurants available in the city.
