Shenlian embarked on her professional journey at Nanjing Normal University, where she obtained a BA in early childhood education in 2016. She then pursued an MA in education at University College London. She is a qualified primary teacher in China, the UK and the US, holding both a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a primary teaching credential from Washington, DC.

With five years of primary teaching experience in China and abroad, Shenlian previously worked at a bilingual school in Shanghai before joining Wellington. During this time, she discovered her passion for teaching mathematics and transitioned to become a math specialist. Shenlian highly values pupils' voices and choices in the classroom. She is committed to providing an exceptional learning experience for each student by tailoring her teaching to meet the diverse needs of her students. Shenlian firmly believes in the importance of continuous learning to enhance her teaching skills and better support young learners.

During her leisure time, she finds joy in reading, travelling, and exploring new things. She has an affinity for nature and treasures moments of tranquillity.
