Shelley graduated with a BA (Hons) in English from Sichuan Agricultural University in 2011 and went on to qualify as a high school English teacher in Mainland China. In 2017, she completed her master’s degree in marketing at the University of Exeter in the UK. Driven by her passion for teaching children, she gained experience as a Teaching Assistant at St Joseph’s Primary School in Derby, UK, in 2019 before returning to China to join Wellington College International Shanghai. Shelley believes in fostering not only academic growth but also emotional and social well-being in her students.

After serving as Head of Teaching Assistants for two years, she completed her iPGCE with the TES Institute in 2024. She is also an advocate of the Positive Discipline education model and is furthering her training to extend her impact in this field.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading to her daughter, travelling around the world and learning different styles of dance.
