Stephen began his teaching career in Tokyo, Japan. After teaching there for nine years, he returned to the UK and fulfilled his dream of becoming a science teacher. He has honed his skills in the UK and Vietnam for the last nine years to become a very reflective and progressive teacher. He is involved in developing students' passion for the scientific process and STEAM-based learning. His goal is to create resilient, passionate lifelong scientists. Stephen studied genetics and zoology at Sheffield University, UK, where he developed a passion for the natural world. His thesis analysed the applications of the Human Genome Project. He has a wide range of interests, including ecology, epigenetics and biomedicine. He has established many links throughout the global scientific community and can use these to inspire a new generation. Outside of education, Stephen is a keen sportsman and loves football, tennis, basketball, snowboarding and volleyball. As a qualified UEFA football coach, he likes to use a scientific approach to improve students' technique and understanding of the beautiful game.
