Dr Nikki Bache

Nikki has a BSc in Biochemistry with French from the University of Manchester, a university diploma in Molecular Endocrinology from Montpelier University in France and a Ph.D. in Obstetric Pathology from the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Her research whilst at Nottingham focused on the molecular pathology of pre-eclampsia and pregnancy-induced hypertension. Nikki has been teaching Chemistry up to key stage 5 for many years in both the state and independent sectors.  In her first teaching role, as well as teaching both Chemistry and Biology to A level, she started up a new department from scratch, introducing Applied Science to those students wishing to pursue a vocational pathway. Since then, she has headed up a chemistry department at a boarding school in South East England, where she also took an active role in the outdoor pursuits department, as well as undertaking boarding duties.  Prior to arriving in Shanghai, Nikki worked within a large and highly successful sixth form chemistry department in West Sussex. Nikki joined in Wellington College International Shanghai with her partner, also a member of the Senior School staff, and their son, who is a pupil in the Prep School. Outside of teaching, her interests include long distance running and hiking.  She also loves travelling, cooking and reading.
