After graduation, Keith taught in Irish primary schools for six years in KS2. At every point in his career, Keith has helped lead curricular development. One such area would include science and technology in which Keith took part in a national STEM project lead by Microsoft and the Department of Education in Ireland which was aimed at getting more girls interested in STEM subjects. As well as curricular interests, Keith also has a passion for helping other teachers to develop their skills. In his previous school, he successfully initiated and implemented a professional learning community (PLC). This enabled teachers to share resources, amend school policies and develop their teaching pedagogy. Having originally graduated from the University of Limerick with a Bachelor of Education (primary teaching degree), Keith then continued his studies while still working full-time and completed his Masters of Education with a specialism in leadership. Keith values relationships and strives to build positive connections with students in his class. He believes that happy students will be happy and successful learners. Outside of school, Keith has many interests including cooking and travelling. When it comes to sport, Keith likes nothing more than watching ‘hurling’ which is a national sport in Ireland. He now looks forward to discovering Asia and having the opportunity to work in Wellington College.
