Associate Deputy Head (Early Years and Key Stage 1)
Lucy worked with an international educational group as regional executive principal before joining Wellington College Shanghai. She holds CACHE level 3 in childcare and education, bachelor’s degree in English and early years education and postgraduate certificate with University of Strathclyde Glasgow. Lucy has undertaken master in education with pedagogy with TES and East London University. Lucy has been chosen by Wellington College Shanghai to participate in Hipo program to recognize her skill and potential as a senior leader. As part of Hipo program, Lucy has been supported by Wellington to study NPQSL (UK national senior leadership qualification).
Lucy has a strong understanding of the importance of the image of child and the image of teacher. She strongly believes in the importance of seeing the learner within a socio-cultural context where knowledge is constructed as the child interacts with both the physical and interpersonal environment. She has passion to listen to children, record children’s progress and see environment as the third teacher. She is keen to set up inviting environment to young learners. Outside of work, she enjoys reading books and travelling. Lucy considers herself as a life-long learner, she is eager to learn new knowledge and skills from the community.
