Summer Festival 2018 | Coming Soon!

13 Mar 2018
With the weather finally turning and the heat creeping back into Shanghai after the chilly winter months, it can only mean that Wellington’s annual Summer Festival is just around the corner. With a new theme, a new logo and a whole range of new activities, incredible refreshment vendors, competitions and live performances, Summer Festival 2018 is shaping up to be another smash hit for everyone in the Wellington community to enjoy together.   Designing the 2018 Summer Festival Logo   At the start of the term, the art and design team set pupils the exciting challenge of creating the 2018 Summer Festival logo. The competition winner was inspired by this year’s festival theme of “Aloha Hawaii”, but there were many fantastic entries, making the judging process a difficult but extremely enjoyable one.   Designing a logo is no easy task, but our pupils embraced the challenge and met it head-on. The art and design team would like to extend a huge thank you to all the amazing artists and designers who participated in this year’s competition. The volume and quality of the submitted designs were highly impressive to say the least. However, we have managed to decide on a winner, and so we are delighted to present the chosen logo for the Wellington College Summer Festival 2018:     Congratulations to Natalie Williamson in year 8! Natalie really got into the task, submitting a wide range of design ideas that were all beautifully presented and successfully met all aspects of the specifications given. Similar congratulations must also go to our runners up, whose logos were also truly excellent in terms of creativity and technical ability:     Thank you to all the participants and congratulations to winners! You should be extremely proud of your efforts.   Summer Festival 2018: Aloha Hawaii
