Arts Festival 2018 | ZOOM ticket booking ends tomorrow!

23 Oct 2018
Thursday, 1 November 20182:00 – 3:30pm Wellington College Dome and Theatre
The final day to book a seat for ZOOM is Wednesday 24th October. ZOOM is an ambitious and unique, one-off performance. An exciting, original multi-media event created specifically for Wellington’s Arts Festival by renowned artists from the UK. The performance is built around the words of UK’s leading poet, Simon Armitage, and set to specially commissioned music by award-winning composer and musician, John HarleZOOM will involve every pupil from year 4 to year 13 as a 700-strong choir, backing the speakers and musicians who will present this unique collaboration between word and music. In addition, a light show, devised by the sound architect Richard Scott, will add to the atmosphere and performance. This is a challenging yet possibly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for pupils to work together with such distinguished artists over four days in preparation for the final performance in the College dome.   With over 700 pupils participating in the performance, space in the dome will be very limited. We understand that parents and guests will want to watch this event therefore we will ‘live stream’ the performance to the College theatre. Tickets for theatre seating are now available for purchase. Should seating in the dome become available, the names of those who have already purchased tickets for the live streaming will be put forward to a lottery draw. The first names out of the hat will then be given a seat in the dome.
