Sports Awards Ceremony

15 Jun 2016

Sports Awards Ceremony

Wellington held its second Annual Sports Awards in the College theatre. The focus of the evening was to celebrate a fantastic year of school sport. So many people have contributed to this year’s sporting success and development, namely our pupils, coaches and parents. It has been a real collective effort.

We celebrated the performance, improvement and commitment of the pupils across our sports teams. The College further recognised Luna’s outstanding achievement of gaining a Sports Scholarship to Millfied College in the UK. While Max, with his enthusiasm, won ‘Academic Student of the Year’.

The Sports Department has been very pleased with our sports leadership programme this year, with the student body making a great contribution. However, for their superb efforts, we singled out Zoe and Alphonse for ‘Sports Leader of the Year’.

It has been a fantastic year of sport, filled with fond memories. Next year we will reach even higher, as Year 10-13 will join the SISAC for their fixtures and the rest of the school will continue with new energy our commitment to the British Schools League, SSSA, CISSA and the Shanghai Swim League. Meanwhile, this year saw a number of successful international tours, and next year holds exciting trips to Wellington UK, Thailand and Malaysia.

It has been a real privilege to lead and begin the sports programme at Wellington. As I return to the UK, at the end of this academic year, I wish the school and its network all the very best for the future, and I thank you all for your constant support.
