Celebrating the festive season at the annual FOW winter market

10 Dec 2020

A great day was had by all at The Qiantan Life Festival/FOW Winter Market on Saturday 5th December.  This was the fifth iteration hosted by the Friends Of Wellington British school Shanghai and the first open to the public and the local community. Families from Wellington College, Huili School and the local community came together at Crystal Plaza to enjoy fun times together, sample tasty treats, shop for gifts and enjoy festive cheer. Everyone got into the Festive spirit with the live acts on the stage throughout the day, featuring several Wellington and Huili Choirs, the Wellington Senior Band, a choir from Shanghai hua’er Baoshan Experimental School and local acts and of course, Santa and Mrs Claus! They visited the market, posed for photos with the children and even joined in with some fabulous singing by Santa alongside the Senior Choir and Band. Wellem, Crystal Plaza, NeoBio, Nicholas & Bear, Knight Frank, Brandy and DBS were essential support providing the additional costs involved to run such an event off campus. Also a huge thank you to the Qiantan community who without their ongoing support and efforts the event could not have been held. Their support is greatly appreciated. The event was arranged and run by parent volunteers from the Friends Of Wellington.  An event like this needs a lot of people working together to make it such an enjoyable day. To all the parent volunteers and Senior Students who helped on the day and the hard-working FOW Charity team - the FOW Committee would like to extend a big thank you for all your efforts! The success of the day would not be possible without your contribution. We hope everyone enjoyed the event!
