The Italian Carnivale comes to The Hill

15 Feb 2017
Last Thursday at The Hill we celebrated our internationalism as we opened the house up for an Italian Carnevale at The Hill. We were joined by an additional 25 flexi boarders for the night who all enjoyed an evening of Italian themed activities, including, a master class in Pizza making (and of course eating), Venetian mask making, Pinata (or pignatta in Italian) and, of course, lots of dancing. The Hill was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of no less than 100 Pizzas, carefully crafted by our boarders under the expert eye of our very own Deborah Walther, or as we now affectionately know her as in The Hill, Mama Delli Pelli. As this was a Carnevale, we encouraged all those attending to dress up. The theme, of course, was all things Italian. Francesco from year 5 stole the show with his truly authentic Italian costume and walked away with the coveted Best Dressed award. We hope to have more International celebration nights like this in the future and welcome the support and suggestions from parents, pupils and staff. Daniel Eldred Head of Boarding
