This Wellington Scholar is making a big splash
Year 10 pupil and Wellington Sport Scholar Ettore is proof that some people were simply born to make waves. "I didn't choose swimming," he explains. "Swimming chose me."

From specialised training to one-on-one coaching, the school's sports Scholarship Programme has given this young athlete the tools to truly excel. And excel he has, going on to compete in prestigious events like the Swimming World Cup here in Shanghai.

Wellington Scholarships are awarded to a limited number of pupils in year 10-13 who demonstrate the highest level of dedication and potential within one of three areas: Academics, The Arts, or Sport. Acceptance into the programme is a highly coveted honour and criteria for the award are extremely rigorous.
Wellington Scholars enjoy a bespoke programme of study in addition to the Wellington curriculum and either a 50% or 100% fee reduction.
