March 24: Swimming Pathways to Elite US Universities

On Monday March 24 at 5pm on the Wellington campus, we will host an exclusive event where we will share our pioneering approach to supporting elite swimmers toward placements at prestigious US universities.

We will hear from Wellington senior academic leaders as well as Coach to Olympians, Miguel Alvarez who leads our AquaLions swim team.

Coach Miguel, Coach of the Spanish National Swimming Federation and Director of World Aquatics for Southeast Asia

Coached more than 50 international swimmers who have set hundreds of national records in 20 different countries

They will share in-depth case studies on the 360-degree support we provide for elite swimmers, how we empower them to achieve their best and support them to compete on the biggest stages in the world.

Joshua Beard, our Head of Higher Education and Careers (HEC), will share insights into how his team supports pupils with end-to-end university application guidance and present case studies of success supporting elite swimmers.

At the event will also be introducing our exclusive partnership with American College Connection, the pre-eminent swimming recruitment specialists in the US, who have over a decade of experience helping pupil-athletes land offers from Ivy League universities and  major D1 swimming programmes.

You will also hear from AquaLion elite squad swimmers Shannon T and Ettore C who will share their experience and advice.
